Canadian pop singer Avril Lavigne won favorite female artist, favorite breakthrough artist, and the style award at the second annual MTV Asia Awards. Linkin Park won the favorite rock act and favorite video awards. The awards were presented Friday night before an audience of 8,000 at Singapore's Indoor Stadium.

Performers included Lavigne, Missy Elliot, Robbie Williams, Blue, and Singapore's hometown diva, Stefanie Sun. The three-hour show was co-hosted by Jamaican rapper Shaggy and Hong Kong pop star Coco Lee.

Awards were presented to artists and personalities in 19 categories, with winners selected by viewers from 10 countries in the region.
