Invisibl Skratch Piklz principals Apollo and Shortkut are teamed with fellow DJ Vinroc in the trio Triple Threat, whose debut album, "Many Styles," is due March 3 from Fat Beats. The album will be supported with a two month U.S. tour, kicking off March 1 at San Francisco's Noise Pop Festival and wrapping May 3 in Vancouver.
"Many Styles" lives up to its title, offering bountiful proof of Triple Threat's collective turntable wizardry, as well as more fleshed out hip-hop cuts and instrumentals. An array of guests enliven the proceedings, including Rob Swift and Roc Raida of famed DJ outfit the X-Ecutioners, and rappers such as Talib Kweli, Mystic, and Souls of Mischief.
On Feb. 8, group members will celebrate the impending release of "Many Styles" with individual DJ sets at the Border Cantina in San Francisco. The event will also serve as a preview party for the album's first single, "Hit 'Em Off," which features rapper Zion.
