Producer Phil Spector, noted for his work with the Beatles, Ike & Tina Turner, the Righteous Brothers, and the Ronettes, was arrested this morning (Feb. 3) on charges of murder in connection with the shooting death of an unidentified woman at his home in Alhambra, Calif. A police spokesperson tells Billboard.com Spector is being held on $1 million bail.

At around 5 a.m. PT, officers were called to Spector's home and found a female shooting victim on the premises. The victim, a white female, was pronounced dead the scene. Her identity has not yet been made public, pending notification of her family.

Spector was booked into police custody at 6:09 a.m. PT. The spokesperson had no further information on his arraignment.
