Ashanti, B2K, and Musiq were the big winners at Saturday's (March 1) 17th annual Soul Train Awards, tying with two honors each. Ashanti won best R&B/soul single, female and best R&B/soul album, female for her self-titled Murder Inc/Def Jam album. Musiq was the male winner in the same categories for "Dontchange" and "Juslisen" (Def Soul/Island Def Jam), respectively.

B2K took home the best R&B/soul single, group award for "Bump, Bump, Bump" and the best R&B/soul album, group award for its self-titled Epic album.

Nelly won the R&B/soul or rap album of the year award for his Fo' Real/Universal set "Nellyville." The St. Louis-based rapper was also honored with the previously announced Sammy Davis Jr. Award for entertainer of the year. Receiving the Quincy Jones Award for outstanding career achievements were Mariah Carey and LL Cool J.

Co-hosted by Queen Latifah and Arsenio Hall, the awards aired live in first-run syndication in the U.S. Held at the from the Pasadena (Calif.) Civic Auditorium, the event will also see future syndicated broadcast in some markets. Award winners are determined by radio programmers, artists, and retailers.

Best R&B/soul or rap new artist: "Why Don't We Fall in Love," Amerie
Michael Jackson Award for best R&B/soul or rap music video: "Work It," Missy "Misdemeanor" Elliott
Best gospel album: "The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin," Kirk Franklin
