Although shows are still being confirmed, Neil Young will hit Europe in May for a solo acoustic tour. Dates are set through May 24 in Paris. Young has not toured solo since 1999, when he embarked on a 38-date North American trek that featured performances of nearly 70 different songs. A spokesperson says Young will tour North America this summer backed by a band but had no further information at deadline.

It is not known if Young is working on a new album. His most recent Reprise set, "Are You Passionate?," debuted in April 2002 at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 219,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Sept. 11-themed single "Let's Roll" reached No. 32 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, marking Young's first appearance on that tally in more than five-and-a-half years.
