Indie-rock juggernaut Guided By Voices is toiling away on its 14th studio album, "Earthquake Glue," for which Matador Records' official Web site is touting an Aug. 19 release date. The site lists 14 prospective track titles -- including "Main Street Wizards," "The Best of Jill Hives," and "I'll Replace You With Machines" -- for the album, which would be the follow-up to last year's "Universal Truths and Cycles."

In other GBV news, frontman Robert Pollard and guitarist Doug Gillard are set to release a collaborative album under the pseudonym Lifeguards. "Mist King Urth" is due March 25 on Pollard's own Fading Captain Series imprint via Rockathon. The album will mark the first non-GBV collaboration between the two since 1999's "Speak Kindly of Your Local Volunteer Fire Department."

Meanwhile, Guided By Voices has set a three-date "mini-tour" of Midwest venues supporting Cheap Trick. The pair will play April 8 at Minneapolis' State Theatre, April 11 at Rockford, Ill.'s Coronado Theater, and April 12 at Chicago's Vic Theater.

"Universal Truths and Cycles" debuted last July at No. 160 on The Billboard 200.
