Celebrities should continue to express their opinions on world events, according to a recently completed Billboard.com poll. Of 9,082 voters, 61% had no problem with musicians, actors, and other public figures using the public forums afforded them by their celebrity status to share their perspectives.

Of that group, 39% said that while notable figures are welcome to express their opinions in the public forum, those comments have no bearing on their decisions regarding politics and world affairs. Another 22% believe that the artistic community should continue in the tradition of using its opportunities and rights to freedom of expression in an attempt to affect change.

On the other side of the issue, 39% felt that celebrities should stick to their respective art forms and leave such debate to others.

A new poll already underway in The Voting Booth asks if you think other artists should stage extended engagements in a centralized location, such as Celine Dion is doing with her recently launched "A New Day" production in Las Vegas. Stop by and cast your vote today!
