Veteran modern rock act Built To Spill has confirmed a month-long spring tour, beginning May 9 in the group's Boise, Idaho, home base and wrapping with a June 3-4 stand in Vancouver. The group will also play a one-off show at Boise's Neurolux club on Thursday (April 3).
A spokesperson says Built To Spill will likely debut material that may appear on its next Warner Bros. studio album, for which a release date has not yet been set. It will be the follow-up to 2001's "Ancient Melodies of the Future," which debuted at No. 94 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 82,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
Since then, Martsch released his first solo Warner Bros. solo album, "Now You Know," which debuted last October at No. 6 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart. Asked if the homespun sound of the album might influence future Built To Spill albums, he told Billboard, "We're not going to be a blues band, but you can't avoid putting in some things you've learned from listening to that music."
