Rootsy U.K. quintet Gomez has set a spring tour of the U.S., slated to start April 26 at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif. and encompass 13 dates through a May 12 gig in Detroit. The group will be supporting its latest Virgin album, last year's "In Our Gun," as well as performing new tunes written for the its fourth full-length, which it is recording now and plans to release early in 2004.

Gomez is keeping the U.S. in its extended plan for the next year. A second tour of the country has been tentatively set for later in 2003, and the band also plans to return early next year, after the release of its new, as yet untitled, album.

"In Our Gun" debuted at No. 37 on Billboard's Heatseekers chart in April of last year, and has sold 37,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
