Phish's Anastasio On The Road Again

As previously tipped here, Phish guitarist Trey Anastasio is heading out for a 10-date spring tour with his nine-piece band. The outing will kick off May 26 with the first of two shows at New York's Hammerstein Ballroom, and hit Philadelphia, San Francisco, Denver, and Chicago before winding down with two concerts at Burlington, Vt.'s Memorial Auditorium in early June, as part of the city's Discover Jazz Festival.

The tour is in support of Anastasio's forthcoming solo live album, "Plasma," due April 29 from Elektra. The double-disc album features primarily unreleased material being performed by the same band that will accompany the guitarist this spring -- bassist Tony Markellis, drummer Russ Lawton, keyboardist Ray Paczkowsi, trumpeter Jennifer Hartswick, alto saxophonist Dave Grippo, saxophonist Peter Apfelbaum, trombonist Andy Moroz, tenor saxophonist and flutist Russell Remington, and percussionist Cyro Baptista.

A limited amount of tickets for the tour go on sale Monday (April 7) via Anastasio's ticketing Web site for a four-day period ending next Thursday. Tickets will go on sale to the general public April 25. For more information, visit Anastasio's official Web site.

As previously reported, Phish will embark on a summer tour July 7 in Phoenix, playing 21 dates across the country that culminate with It, a two-day festival to be held Aug. 2-3 at Loring Air Force Base in Limestone, Maine.
