Actress/singer Hilary Duff finds herself among such acts as Atomic Kitten, the Beu Sisters, and even the late Dean Martin on the soundtrack to "The Lizzie McGuire Movie." Due April 22 from Walt Disney Records, the set features Duff singing two songs, one of which "What Dreams Are Made Of," is performed in the role of the film's title character, which she reprises from a similarly titled Disney television show.

The 15-year-old Duff, who was recently seen opposite Frankie Muniz in "Agent Cody Banks," also sings the soundtrack's opening song, "Why Not." She tells Billboard.com it "is a song that I really love. It's really fun, and about just letting loose, so it's really cool."

Written by Matthew Gerard (Nick Carter, Plus One), the track is also slated to appear on the 15-year-old performer's upcoming album, which Duff hopes to have ready for release in August or September. "I've gotten to collaborate with some writers and tell them what I want to sing about," she says, "and my sister is actually writing about three songs for my album." Older sister Haylie Duff also contributes a performance of "Girl in the Band" to the "Lizzie" soundtrack.

Duff, who already has a holiday collection under her belt in the form of last year's "Santa Claus Lane," hasn't yet settled on a name for her debut pop album, but says, "I don't think I want to do a self-titled album, I want it to have a name, but, I'm just trying to think right now."

As for her own taste in music, Duff says, "I actually like lots of bands. I like Bowling For Soup, No Doubt and Good Charlotte, and Linkin Park. And I also really love Tayrn Manning's band, called Boomkat. I'm obsessed with them!"

After she wraps work on the album, Duff will begin shooting a remake of the 1950 film "Cheaper by the Dozen" with Steve Martin and Bonnie Hunt, and will shoot "Cinderella Story" this summer.

Also featuring Brendan Kelly ("Oz," "Con Air") and Duff's television show castmates Adam Lamberg, Clayton Snyder, Ashlie Brillault, Jake Thomas ("AI"), and Carly Schroeder, "The Lizzie McGuire Movie" is due to open May 2 in U.S. theaters.
