Jay-ZSong Sung 'Blue'
Never one to let a lot of time elapse between releases, rapper Jay-Z is back this week with "Blueprint 2.1," a single-disc collection of tracks previously released on last year's "The Blueprint 2: The Gift and the Curse." Two new cuts are featured: "Stop" and a remix of "Excuse Me Miss," the latter of which is No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. "The Blueprint 2" notched Jay-Z his fifth No. 1 album when it debuted last November at the top of The Billboard 200. The single "'03 Bonnie & Clyde" featuring Beyonce Knowles reached No. 4 on the Hot 100.
"My whole thing was to record a lot of music coming off 'The Blueprint,'" Jay-Z told Billboard last year. "That was considered a classic as soon it came out. You know how people always compare an artist's last album to their latest. I knew that was going happen, so I wanted to make sure it was extra tight."
"Blueprint 2.1" isn't the only product with Jay-Z's name on it about to hit stores. The rapper's S Carter shoe via Reebok will be available beginning April 18, and according to Def Jam, special pre-order promotions are being established for fans that can't wait until then to snap up the sneakers.
