The Fox reality show/talent contest's remaining finalists will perform songs that have reached No. 1 on the magazine's tallies, as they court viewers who will ultimately vote one of them off of the show. Results of tonight's voting will be revealed on tomorrow night's episode of the show.
So far during the show's second season, "Idol" has utilized disco, country, the movies, and Motown as themes, and the initial pack of a dozen finalists has been whittled down to eight. As previously reported, last weeks' show didn't see an audience-voted elimination from the show, as producers instead booted contestant Corey Clark because of an undisclosed prior arrest for assault.
Last week's results show revealed that "Idol" hopefuls Trenyce and Carmen Rasmusen received the least votes, but with the removal of Clark, neither was eliminated from the competition. Even so, all of the votes from last week will be carried over to this week's show, and the total from both voting nights will determine the next finalist eliminated.
In other "Idol" news, last season's winner, Kelly Clarkson, is expected to perform on tomorrow's show. Her RCA debut, "Thankful," arrives next Tuesday.
