Alice Cooper, Brian McKnight, Fabolous, Kelly Clarkson, Tyrese, Smash Mouth, Monica, and Ziggy Marley are among those set to perform Saturday (May 3) at the Coors Amphitheatre in Chula Vista, Calif. Fox will air a two-hour concert special culled from the performance May 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
The set list will include Cooper performing his classic anthem "School's Out," Smash Mouth's "Walking on the Sun," McKnight singing "All Night Long," and Marley teaming up with the Ben Taylor Band for a rendition of his father, Bob Marley's "Could You Be Loved."
Ex-MTV VJ Bill Bellamy, who currently co-stars in the Fox series "Fastlane," will host the event. "American Idol" first season runner-up Justin Guarini is also set to appear on the special.
And if the celebrity mix wasn't eclectic enough, 1980s pop star Tiffany will participate in a bikini contest on the show. Tiffany, who last year bared all in a Playboy magazine photo spread, will be joined in the contest by fellow Playboy models Traci Bingham and Nikki Schieler Ziering, as well as actress Heather Tom ("The Young & the Restless") and model Susan Holmes.
Nominees for the 2003 Teen Choice Awards (which will air in August on Fox) will be announced throughout the "Summer Music Mania 2003" broadcast.
Tickets for the event are priced at $25 and $10 and are available via Ticketmaster.
