Trace Adkins, Andy Griggs, the Charlie Daniels Band, and John Michael Montgomery will celebrate minor league baseball and the 100th anniversary of the South Atlantic League (SAL) by taking part in the Country Grand Slam tour. Kicking off May 10, the 12-date tour will present a performance by one or more of the artists at several of the league's ballparks in North and South Carolina, Georgia, West Virginia, and Maryland through early August.

"There is nothing quite as American as baseball and country music," SAL commissioner John Moss said in a statement. "[The tour is] the perfect way to celebrate the SAL's rich tradition of success and, at the same time, give something back to the fans and communities that have supported our clubs for so many years."

Established in 1903, "The League of Choice" has been home to many future major leaguers, including Hank Aaron, Tommy Lasorda, Ty Cobb, Harmon Killebrew, Don Mattingly, Nolan Ryan, Steve Carlton, Willie Stargell, and Sparky Anderson.

While there won't be ballgames coinciding with any of the concerts, members of the local teams will be on hand to sign autographs and meet fans. Tickets to the concerts can be ordered through countrygrandslam.com or 800-594-TIXX.
