Pop singer Vanessa Carlton, hard rock act Cold, and DJ Rocky Rock and MC Supernatural are the latest artists following the video game trend. Each will contribute music to upcoming home video game titles created and marketed by Midway Games.

Carlton will record the theme song for the action/combat racing game "SpyHunter 2." The game was recently optioned by Universal Pictures, which is developing a live action film that may star professional wrestler-turned-actor the Rock, according to Midway. Carlton will debut the song during a live performance tomorrow (May 14) at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) in Los Angeles.

Along with a theme song, Flip/Interscope act Cold will also record several other tracks to be utilized as the soundtrack to Midway's "ESPionage." The action game utilizes characters that integrate traditional weapons combat with extensive psychic mind powers.

As for DJ Rocky Rock and MC Supernatural, the duo will add beats to "NBA Ballers," which pits National Basketball Association stars in one-on-one competition. Cold will perform Thursday, and Rock and Supernatural on Friday, at E3.

All three games are scheduled for a fall release for PlayStation 2, Xbox, and NintendoGameCube home gaming systems. For more information on each, visit midway.com.
