B.B. King, Eric Clapton, Wynton Marsalis, Ray Charles, and Willie Nelson are among the artists who will play the Blowin' the Blues Away, a concert to benefit Jazz at Lincoln Center (J@LC). To be held June 2 at New York's famed Apollo Theater, the event will celebrate the U.S. Congress-declared Year of the Blues and will articulate the development of the blues in jazz through narrative and song.

Conceived by Marsalis, J@LC's artistic director, the event will be hosted by actor Laurence Fishburne ("The Matrix") and will also feature performances by Lou Donaldson, Audra McDonald, and Carrie Smith. A newly commissioned work by Marsalis featuring all of the night's performers will be premiered.

Tickets for the concert, which will be followed by a gala dinner, start at $1,000. Proceeds will benefit the not-for-profit J@LC performance and educational programs. For more information, visit the organization's Web site or call 212-258-9803.
