Already a man of many talents and business ventures, rapper Snoop Dogg is dipping a toe into the hip-hop mixtape game with "Welcome 2 the Chuuch, Vol. 1," which can be ordered from his Doggy Style Records Web site. The release will feature unreleased music from Snoop, Xzibit, Nate Dogg, Redman, Beanie Siegel, Freeway, Soopafly, RBX, and Marvin Gaye, among others.
As previously reported, Snoop is about to hit the road as a support act for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, beginning Monday (June 2) in West Palm Beach, Fla. On June 28, he will take a break to host his second annual celebrity charity basketball game at Long Beach Poly High School in Long Beach, Calif. Among the invited guests are Tyrese, Ice Cube, Warren G, Mystikal, Nelly, Fabolous, B2K, Bow Wow, and members of the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers. Tickets are $10 at the door.
Also on Snoop Dogg's horizon is a DVD chronicling last December's Snoop Bowl football game against the Inland Empire Police Department, as well as albums with the Eastsidaz and the supergroup 213 (featuring Warren G and Nate Dogg).
As previously reported, the rapper has a number of film roles upcoming, including the "Airplane!"-inspired spoof "Soul Plane" and an adaptation of the 1970s TV show "Starsky & Hutch." He will also star in the MTV variety show "Doggy Fizzle Televizzle," which premieres June 22.
