Four distinct concerts will make up this year's Verizon Music Festival, slated for July 24-27 in Los Angeles. A singer/songwriter event, hip-hop show, and a Latin concert will be ticketed shows, while Smokey Robinson will headline a free event in Old Pasadena's Central Park.

Rufus Wainwright and Aimee Mann will open the festival July 24 at UCLA's Royce Hall, followed by a Common and Floetry show the next evening at the Wadsworth Theatre. The July 26 Latin event at the Wiltern Theatre will feature Charlie Zaa, Pablo Montero, and Los Pinguos. Tickets to these shows go on sale Sunday (June 1) via Ticketmaster, and the individual venue box offices.

Along with Robinson, the July 27 free concert will boast performances by the Christian McBride Band, Joyce Cooling, the Phil Ranelin Jazz Ensemble, the Mike Melvoin Trio, the Rudy Regalado Orchestra Chevere, and Incendio.
