Slipknot bassist Paul Gray was arrested yesterday (June 1) on drug charges after a car accident in Des Moines, Iowa, a police spokesperson tells Billboard.com. Gray reportedly ran a red light and collided with another car proceeding through an intersection. The musician's behavior was erratic, and when police arrived on the scene, they found small amounts of marijuana, a substance that tested positive for cocaine, and two syringes in his Porsche.

Gray failed two sobriety tests on the scene and was taken into custody on possession of marijuana, cocaine, and drug paraphernalia, as well as failure to obey a traffic device. He consented to a urine test, although results may not be known for several weeks. Gray posted bond and will likely be arraigned June 10, according to the spokesperson.

Slipknot's nine members are all natives of Des Moines. The band, known as much for its elaborate on-stage masks as its metal-leaning hard rock, has been working on its next Roadrunner studio album with producer Rick Rubin.
