No Doubt frontwoman Gwen Stefani will make her film debut as Hollywood sex goddess Jean Harlow in the Howard Hughes biopic "Aviator," sources confirm. She joins Leonardo DiCaprio, Cate Blanchett, Kate Beckinsale, Adam Scott, and Kelli Garner in the cast.

The project, due to start shooting next month in Montreal, centers on the life of billionaire Hughes, to be played by DiCaprio. Among the six actors who are close to finalizing deals to join the project, Blanchett will star as Katharine Hepburn; Beckinsale as Ava Gardner; Scott as Hughes' press agent, Johnny Meyer; and Garner as Faith Domergue, a young actress who was discovered by Hughes.

In April, Stefani tipped fans to her interest in acting via a post on No Doubt's official Web site. "If the right part were to come along, I think I would try working in film," she said.

While No Doubt takes a break, the artist is also "collaborating on some tracks" that she says could form the basis for a solo project.
