Musical and acting skills have placed Jennifer Lopez ahead of fellow nominees for the 2003 Teen Choice Awards. Lopez scored 12 nominations, including nods for movie actress, female music artist and female "hottie." Eminem follows with seven nominations, which include notices in the movie actor, rap artist and male music artist categories.

Lopez's "This Is Me... Then" (Epic) and Eminem's "The Eminem Show" (Web/Aftermath/Interscope) will compete in the music album category. They're also both up for crossover artist (music/acting), along with Kelly Clarkson, Eve, Beyonce Knowles, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Mandy Moore and Tyrese.

Other awards for which Lopez is a contender are for music single and music hookup for the LL Cool J duet "All I Have," love song ("I'm With You"), and hip-hop/R&B artist. The movie actress nod is for her work in "Maid in Manhattan," which garnered a best liplock nomination for Lopez's kiss with Ralph Fiennes.

Eminem will also vie the liplock honor for his onscreen "8 Mile" romance with actress Brittany Murphy, and is up for the breakout male movie star award.

Voting is open to those aged 13-19 for awards in 56 categories, covering film, television, music, video games, and sports. Picks will be tallied through America Online (keyword: Teen Choice Awards) and TeenPeople.com. Winners will be awarded Aug. 6 during a live two-hour ceremony that will be broadcast by Fox.
