Keith Caulfield answers readers' questions about Paula Abdul, Alicia Keys, and Weezer.

I'm very interested in knowing how many copies Paula Abdul's "Greatest Hits" has sold according to Nielsen SoundScan. And is the "American Idol" judge currently recording another album?

Hi Ricardo,

Paula Abdul's "Greatest Hits" set, released in 2000, has sold 82,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Virgin album never reached any of Billboard's charts.

Back in January, Abdul stated that she was recording a new album. Nothing since has been announced regarding what record label this set will be distributed through. Additionally, in April, Billboard Bulletin reported that Abdul was developing a reality-show competition for cheerleaders with MTV. There has been no word on when that show will bow on the channel.

I'm a huge Alicia Keys fan and I wanted to know when she's coming out with her new album?

Misty N. Thomas

Hi Misty,

Alicia Keys is busy recording the follow-up to her 2001 debut "Songs In A Minor." The J album is due out this fall. "Minor" has sold 5.5 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

You can follow the recording process of the new set via Keys' official Web site at

Dear Billboard,

I was interested in how many copies Weezer's "Maladroit" has sold and was also wondering what the band's best-selling album was.

Thank you,

Hi Dan,

"Maladroit," released in May 2002, has sold 540,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The Geffen/Interscope album debuted and peaked at No. 3 on The Billboard 200.

Weezer's biggest-selling disc is its 1994 self-titled album, which has sold 2.75 million.
