Billboard Bits: Foo Fighters, Fuel, moe.down

The Fire Theft, which features three former members of Sunny Day Real Estate, has signed with Rykodisc for the release of its debut album. The as-yet-untitled set is being lined up for Sept. 23 releas

Foo FightersThe video clip for the Foo Fighters track "Low," which was rejected by MTV and MTV2, according to a statement, will be offered to fans through a limited edition DVD EP, due July 1 from RCA. The EP will feature the "Low" video (directed by Jesse Peretz) as well as three different clips for the track "Times Like These" and assorted bonus material.

The "Times Like These" videos included are the U.S. version (directed by Marc Klasfeld), the U.K. version (directed by Liam Lynch) and an acoustic performance directed by Bill Yukich. Actor Jack Black joins Foo frontman Dave Grohl in the "Low" video.

Both songs are culled from the group's latest album, "One By One," which debuted at No. 3 on The Billboard 200 in November 2002, and has sold 823,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

FuelModern rock act Fuel will release its third album, "Natural Selection," Sept. 23 through Epic. The first single will be the anthemic track "Falls On Me." A fall tour is being planned.

Produced by Michael Beinhorn (Soundgarden, Red Hot Chili Peppers) and guitarist Carl Bell, the 11-track album is the follow-up to 2000's "Something Like Human." That collection debuted at No. 17 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 1.8 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

They Might Be GiantsThey Might Be Giants have been added to the schedule for the fourth annual moe.down festival in Turin, N.Y.
As previously reported, the Aug. 29-31 event will feature two stages, six sets by noted jam band moe., as well as performances by the Flaming Lips, Rusted Root, Antigone Rising, and side projects of moe. band members.

Tickets for moe.down are on sale online through moe.ticketing (which can be accessed through the band's official Web site) and Ticketmaster.
