The little-known group's new Fat Possum album, "Thickfreakness," has sold more than 10,000 copies in the U.S. in its first two months in stores, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and the Keys are about to finish a run of dates opening for Beck.
But there's a small problem: according to Fat Possum, MTV is incorrectly labeling the Mark Maccora-directed "Set You Free" video as a song from rap outfit Black Eyed Peas' new A&M album, "Elephunk." MTV2 has even added "Set You Free" to the playlist for its show "Subterranean," but "what video they will actually show is anyone's guess," according to a source.
An MTV spokesperson said the network was not aware of an incorrect credit running with the Black Keys' video. The A&M video promotion department did not return a call seeking comment.
