Monica, Smash Mouth and Daniel Bedingfield will perform as part of the 2003 U.S. Open Arthur Ashe Kids' Day event. Slated for Aug. 23 at the USTA National Tennis Center, Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Flushing, N.Y., the annual family festival boasts interactive activities for children, including tennis clinics with top professional players.
The three acts will perform as part of a two-and-a-half hour show inside the tennis stadium, where players such as Andy Roddick, Andre Agassi, James Blake and Anna Kournikova will play matches in front of the audience. Former Olympic gold medalist Summer Sanders and MTV VJ Quddus will also be on hand.
The event raises money for USA Tennis National Junior Tennis League. Highlights will be broadcast the next day on CBS.
Last year's event featured performances by Vanessa Carlton, BBMak and Mario. Previous years have seen Bow Wow, O-Town, 98 Degrees, Hanson, the Backstreet Boys and Britney Spears perform.
