Direct-to-customer distributor BMG Music Service has unveiled plans to host a two-day concert series next month in New York. "A Weekend in Central Park" will feature concerts Sept. 13-14, including an extension of the Sprite Liquid Mix tour -- dubbed the Sprite Remix tour -- and an acoustic-themed concert.

Central Park's Rumsey Playfield will on Sept. 13 host a special engagement of the Sprite Remix tour, headlined by N*E*R*D and also featuring Spymob, Kelis, O.A.R., Talib Kweli and Slightly Stoopid. The show is sandwiched between Liquid Mix tour engagements in Wantagh, N.Y. (Sept. 12) and Boston (Sept. 14).

The following day, the Rumsey Playfield will be the site of An Acoustic Afternoon, featuring Mary Chapin Carpenter, Shawn Colvin, Patty Griffin and Dar Williams performing together on stage. Pieta Brown and Bo Ramsey will open the show.

Separate tickets for both shows are on sale at Ticketmaster. Tickets are $30 for the Sept. 13 show and $35 for the Sept. 14 show.
