Thrice, Thursday Team For Tour

Up-and-coming Island labelmates Thrice and Thursday will kick off a U.S. tour Oct. 17 at the Staircase in Pittston Township, Penn.

Up-and-coming Island labelmates Thrice and Thursday will kick off a U.S. tour Oct. 17 at the Staircase in Pittston Township, Penn. The trek, sponsored by MTV2 and Alternative Press, extends through a Nov. 4 show at the Marquee Theatre in Tempe, Ariz., and includes and already sold-out Halloween show at the 3,500-seat Palladium in Hollywood, Calif. Additional dates will likely be added.

Thrice's new album "The Artist in the Ambulance," is the Orange County, Calif., band's major-label debut and third set overall. It debuted at No. 16 on The Billboard 200 earlier this month. The group has four European dates on tap next week with Rancid.

Although Thrice's ascent to such exposure has been quite steady, vocalist/guitarist Dustin Kensrue says hearing the single "All That's Left" on Los Angeles radio outlet KROQ and seeing the video on MTV is still a bit surreal. "It's just like, 'That's not really there, nobody else is watching that, it's just a special feed for my TV or radio,'" he recently told Billboard.

On Sept. 16, Thursday makes its Island debut with "War All Time" after three indie releases. The group will embark on a short headlining stint Sept. 8 with Year Of The Rabbit and Death By Stereo in tow.
