CAN'T GET ENOUGH OF THAT WONDERFUL DUFF

Hi Keith!

I think Hilary Duff is great, and am glad that her solo debut album, "Metamorphosis," is doing so well, but was wondering what you could tell me about the chart and sales history of the first four albums she appeared on ("Disneymania," "Santa Claus Lane," and the soundtracks of the "Lizzie McGuire" TV series and "The Lizzie McGuire Movie")?

I enjoy your column and anxiously await its appearance every Wednesday on Billboard.com; keep up the great work.

Sincerely,

Jay Ogletree

Hello Jay,

Thank you for the nice words. I'm glad you enjoy the column.

Hilary Duff's debut studio album, "Metamorphosis" will make a high debut this week on The Billboard 200. Last week, we forecasted that the set will likely debut at No. 2, right behind Mary J. Blige at No. 1. Make sure to check in with Billboard.com to find out where Duff ends up.

Duff's Christmas album, "Santa Claus Lane," reached No. 154 on The Billboard 200 in December 2002 and also peaked at No. 22 on the seasonal Top Holiday Albums chart. The Buena Vista/Disney album has sold 85,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Duff also contributed one track to the "Disneymania" compilation (a cover of "The Tiki, Tiki, Tiki Room," the theme song to the "Echanted Tiki Room" at Disneyland and Disney World) which reached No. 52 on The Billboard 200 and has sold 566,000 copies.

The soundtrack to her TV series peaked at No. 31 on The Billboard 200, while the film's soundtrack reached No. 6. The albums reached No. 2 and No. 1 on Billboard's Top Soundtracks chart, and have sold 423,000 and 1 million copies, respectively.

'JUSTIFIED' & 'STRIPPED'

Keith,

How are you doing? How many copies have Christina Aguilera and Justin Timberlake sold up to this point individually with their latest albums?

Thank you for your time,

Keith Dallas

Hi Keith,

Justin Timberlake's "Justified" has sold 2.9 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan, while Christina Aguilera's "Stripped" has moved the same amount. The albums are at No. 49 and No. 37 respectively, this week on The Billboard 200.

Aguilera and Timberlake closed out their North American Justified and Stripped tour this week with a performance in St. Paul, Minn. Aguilera is now off to Europe for two months worth of tour dates, before she heads to Japan and Australia in December for a series of shows.

Timberlake has a new video premiering on MTV this week for the new song "I'm Lovin' It." The track is previously unreleased, and will be featured in upcoming TV commercials for McDonalds. The fast food chain will sponsor Timberlake's upcoming European tour.

More previously unreleased music from both Aguilera and Timberlake can be found on the "Justin & Christina" EP that is being sold exclusively through Target stores in the U.S. The album features four remixes and two new songs, "That's What Love Can Do" by Aguilera, and "Why, When, How" by Timberlake.

MATCHBOX MISINFORMATION

Dear Keith,

Is matchbox twenty together or did they break up? I heard on the radio they did but other than that have heard nothing about it. I really want to know because they are my favorite band.

Sincerely,
Caroline

Hi Caroline,

Unless we've been terribly misinformed, matchbox twenty is together and doing just fine. The group is about to embark on a European tour with Maroon 5 supporting. The trek begins Sept. 4 in Glasgow.

Matchbox's current album, "More Than You Think You Are," has sold 1.5 million copies in the U.S, according to Nielsen SoundScan, and is No. 55 this week on The Billboard 200.
