Releasing concert CDs soon after shows are completed is a winning proposition for music fans, according to a Billboard.com poll. More than 80% of 2,376 voters voiced support for the trend that has been heralded by such bands as Pearl Jam, Phish and the Dead.

Of the majority, 46% agreed that such recordings are the perfect souvenirs of the concert experience. Another 36% agreed that it was great to be able to legally obtain recordings of an act's shows that are especially noteworthy.

Taking opposition to the trend, 12% of respondents feel that the near instant live recordings are merely another way to make money off of fans who've already spent enough on a concert ticket. An additional 6% see it as a self-indulgent exercise on the part of the artist.

A new poll regarding lowering CD prices and the effect it will have on illegal downloading is underway in The Voting Booth. Stop by and register your opinion today!
