The guest lineup includes Tom Waits, Chrissie Hynde, Aaron Neville, Solomon Burke, Mavis Staples, George Clinton, Shelby Lynne, Richard Thompson, Robert Randolph, Meshell Ndegeocello, Michael Franti and Les McCann. Backing the Boys on most of the tracks are organist John Medeski, guitarist Duke Robillard, bassist Danny Thompson and drummer Michael Jerome
Hynde and Richard Thompson join the group for "In the Bleak Midwinter." Neville helps out with "Joy to the World," while Lynne lends her pipes to "The Christmas Song" and Ndegeocello chimes in for "O Come All Ye Faithful." Franti makes his contribution to "Little Drummer Boy" and Waits appears on the title track.
To support the album's release and celebrate the holiday season, the group is planning an end-of-year tour of major U.S. markets.
