Consisting of new and traditional holiday material, the set will donate its proceeds to the Pediatric AIDS Foundation.
"We usually like to get on board with charities and Pediatric AIDS -- what could tug at your heart strings more?" Bosstones frontman Dicky Barrett tells Billboard.com. "There are people over at Immortal now that we've worked with in the past, so when they asked us, it was an easy decision."
"We had agreed to do it sight unseen, and the line-up [for the album] turned out to be pretty damn good," Barrett adds. The Bosstones -- who are currently on a break -- contribute "This Time of Year," a song that was never commercially released, but was recorded as a giveaway to attendees of the Boston-based outfit's 2001 Christmas Hometown Throwdown shows. "It sounds kind of Ramones-ey," says Dicky. "And it's kind of Phil Spector-sounding."
While the full track listing for "A Santa Cause" isn't completely ironed out, Blink 182's "I Won't Be Home for Christmas," New Found Glory's "Ex' Miss," and MxPx's "Christmas Night of the Living Dead" have been confirmed. A 1998 collaboration between Deftones vocalist Chino Moreno and Far on the Band Aid holiday staple "Do They Know It's Christmas?" is also slated for the disc.
Other bands lending material include Something Corporate, Further Seems Forever, Matchbook Romance and Motion City Soundtrack.
