After years of thriving in the South, crunk music is now everywhere.
After years of thriving in the South, crunk music is now everywhere. Crunk veterans Ying Yang Twins look to take full advantage of the sub-genre's newfound fame with their TVT debut, "Me & My Brother." The Atlanta-based duo—D Roc and Kaine—first had heads bouncing with their Collipark/Koch set "Alley" and single "Say I Yi Yi." Ironically, the lead single this time around, "Naggin'," is a departure from crunk anthems. Produced by Beat-in-Azz, the melodic track is relationship-oriented. The Twins turn up the heat on such songs as "Georgia Dome (Get Low Sequel)" and "Salt Shaker." The former finds the duo picking up where "Get Low"—Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz's red-hot single—left off. Meanwhile, the latter, which features Lil Jon & the East Side Boyz, will have ladies shaking it up this fall.—RH
