Nelly visits BET's "106 & Park" at BET Studios on July 31, 2013 in New York City.

Nelly is no stranger to country music. The St. Louis rapper was featured on the pop remix of Florida Georgia Line's "Cruise" and his duet with country superstar Tim McGraw reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2004. (Worth noting: Nelly's very first Hot 100 hit was 2000's No. 7-peaking "(Hot S**t) Country Grammar.")

Now, he returns with another unexpected nod to twang, taking on Thomas Rhett's "Die a Happy Man." The song heads to iTunes on Feb. 5, just as Rhett's version (on the Valory label) leads Billboard's airplay/sales/streaming-based Hot Country Songs chart (dated Feb. 13) for a 12th week (and sixth in succession).

Billboard got an exclusive first listen to Nelly's version. Hear it below.
