Kanye West wants to make it perfectly clear (again): his new album will be great. But perhaps not the standalone GOAT.

The hip-hop superstar has returned to Twitter to share more thoughts on his forthcoming seventh album release. And with a hint of humility, he's paid homage to a stew of artists who’ve inspired him on his path to greatness.

Waves, he says, will be “one of the greatest albums," though in a change of tune for Kanye it'll be "just one" of the greatest.

He tweeted, “Out of respect for Q-Tip, Puff, Hov, Lauren, Pharcyde, Mary, Stevie, Michael, Hendrix, James, Pete Rock, Pac, Marvin…."

Then followed up, “this new album is ONE of the greatest albums not the greatest just one of …”

West completed his tweet trilogy with: "So many musicians touch my life and made me who I am… I want to make something great to honor my idols…"

A little over a week ago, Kanye announced his new release would be the "best album of all time." He's since switched its title from Swish to Waves, having earlier changed its name from So Help Me God. The rapper's studio set is slated for release Feb. 11.
