Los Angeles-based electronic/dance duo the Crystal Method will release its third album, "Legion of Boom," Jan. 13 via V2 Records. Later this month, the band embarks on a six-show DJ tour to debut some of the album's material.

"Legion of Boom" will feature collaborations with former Limp Bizkit guitarist Wes Borland, former Roots beat-boxer Rahzel, Bell Rays singer Lisa Kekaula and San Francisco-based poet Hanifah. Former Kyuss frontman John Garcia also lends his vocals to first single "Born Too Slow."

The band will kick off its mini-tour Oct. 25 at New York's Centro Fly. Five more engagements are scheduled in Atlanta; Tampa, Fla.; Boynton Beach, Fla.; Austin, Texas; and Washington, D.C.

"Legion of Boom" is the follow-up to 2001's "Tweekend" (Outpost/Geffen/Interscope), which debuted at No. 32 on The Billboard 200 and No. 1 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart. That album has sold 284,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. The group's mix-CD compilation, "Community Service" (3AM/Ultra), debuted at No. 160 on The Billboard 200 in August 2002.
