Bluesman Corey Harris will release his fifth studio album, "Mississippi to Mali," on Nov. 18 via Rounder Records. His second set for the label, the album will feature a number of guests, including guitarists Ali Farke Toure and Ali Magassa, percussionist Souleyman Kane, drummer Sam Carr, multi-instrumentalist Bobby Rush and Sharde Thomas & the Rising Star Fife and Drum Band.
Harris, who recently appeared on the first episode of Martin Scorsese's PBS series "The Blues," will launch a brief tour next week in Chicago. A Rounder Records spokesman says more dates will be added in upcoming weeks.
An earlier Billboard.com item reported that Harris would be appearing on four dates of the "Tell Us the Truth Tour." However, Harris will no longer be taking part in the politically-minded outing, which will feature Billy Bragg, Steve Earle and Audioslave guitarist Tom Morello, according to the spokesman. No reason was given for Harris' change in tour plans.
Harris' last album, 2002's "Downhome Sophisticate," peaked at No. 4 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart.

Nov. 7: Whidbey Island, Wash. (WICA)
Nov. 8: Seattle (Tractor Tavern)
