R&B/soul vocalist Avant will release his third album, "Private Room," Dec. 9 via Geffen. First single "Read Your Mind" jumps 14-10 on this week's Billboard Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart and is No. 34 on the Billboard Hot 100.

"Private Room" includes two collaborations with producer Warryn Campbell, "Have Some Fun" and "Heaven." Other tracks set for the album are "Phone Sex (That's What's Up)," "Everything About You," "Don't Take Your Love Away" and a remix of "Read Your Mind."

The new album is the follow-up to 2002's "Ecstasy," which debuted at No. 2 on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart and has sold 713,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Avant was previously signed to Magic Johnson's Magic Johnson Music label, which was distributed by MCA.

The artist has not yet lined up touring plans in support of "Private Room" but is confirmed to appear alongside Mary J. Blige at the 100.3 The Beat Holiday Cooldown show on Dec. 11 at Universal Amphitheatre in Los Angeles.
