Elvis Costello has scheduled a brief winter tour that will kick off Feb. 19 in Clearwater, Fla., and end March 11 in San Francisco. The 13-date trek comes in support of his latest album, "North" (Deutsche Grammophon).
Fans who signed up to receive E-mail updates from Costello's official Web site have been sent a link to register for pre-sale to tickets for the theater shows.
As was the case for a handful of appearances around the time of the release of the album of ballads, Costello will be accompanied by his longtime collaborator, Attractions/Imposters keyboardist Steve Nieve for the tour.
In addition, three dates -- Feb. 24 in Nashville, Feb. 26 in New York and Feb. 27 in Boston -- will see the duo joined by the Brodsky Quartet. The four-piece string ensemble first backed Costello on the 1993 album "The Juliet Letters," and also contributed to "North."
Released in October, "North" debuted at No. 1 on Billboard's Top Jazz Albums chart and held the post for five consecutive weeks. The set has sold 59,000 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
