Eclectic U.K. act Zero 7 will return March 9 with "When It Falls," its sophomore album for Quango/Palm. The Sam Hardaker and Henry Binns-led group is once again joined on the set by vocalists Sia Furler, Sophie Barker and Mozez. Danish newcomer Tina Dico is featured on the track "Home."
"When It Falls" is the follow-up to 2001's "Simple Things," which reached No. 4 on Billboard's Top Electronic Albums chart and has sold 165,600 copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan. Fans entranced by that release's blend of chilled-out atmospheres and soul/jazz shadings will find plenty to enjoy on the new album, particularly the funky instrumental "Look Up," the string-tinged "Somersault" and the wistful "Untitled."
The group has confirmed a spring U.K. tour, beginning March 10 in Limerick, Ireland. A European swing is being lined up for April and May, to be followed by a North American tour.
In other Zero 7 news, the group's remix of N*E*R*D's "Provider" can be found on the "Chillout 04" compilation, released in September by Nettwerk.
