'Girls Gone Wild' Inks CD Deal

Mantra Entertainment, the company behind the successful "Girls Gone Wild" video series has teamed with Jive Records for an upcoming series of compilation CDs.

Mantra Entertainment, the company behind the successful "Girls Gone Wild" video series has teamed with Jive Records for an upcoming series of compilation CDs. The first album will feature "a mix of tracks by chart-topping artists and old school party songs" and will be released in the first quarter of next year.

Each CD will feature one or two "groundbreaking" artists, and will be sold at retail stores, via direct marketing campaigns, on-campus appearances and infomercials.

"The 'Girls Gone Wild' compilations will capture the spirit and youthful party lifestyle that the 'Girls Gone Wild' brand has come to signify," Mantra chairman Joe Francis said in a statement. "With the quality of Jive/Zomba's catalog, the appeal of the 'Girls Gone Wild brand,' our combined marketing expertise and our complementary distribution outlets, we are on our way to creating an extraordinarily profitable alliance."

Beyond the Jive deal, Mantra is also working on a "Girls Gone Wild" film project with MGM, as well as an apparel line and restaurant chain.
