Carl Thomas will return early next year with his sophomore album, "Let's Talk About It." Due Feb. 10 via Bad Boy Records, the single "She Is" featuring LL Cool J leads the collection. The track debuts this week at No. 71 on Billboard's Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.

"She Is" samples the 1987 hit "Happy" by the R&B group Surface. "I have always liked the song, and I'm really good friends with the group," Thomas explains. "Plus, I wanted to be more upbeat on this record." ("Happy" peaked at No. 2 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks tally.)

A video for the cut was recently shot in New York with director Erik White (Missy Elliot, B2K).

As he did with his debut, "Emotional," Thomas tapped Bad Boy Records chief Sean "P. Diddy" Combs, Mario Winans, Mike City and Deric "D-Dot" Angelettie to produce tracks on the new album. "We have chemistry and I didn't feel like anything was broken, so I didn't need to fix it," he says.

Released in 2000, "Emotional" spawned three hit singles on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart: "I Wish" (No. 1), the title track (No. 8) and "Summer Rain" (No. 18).

"Emotional" peaked at No. 2 on The Billboard 200 and the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. It has sold 1.3 million copies in the U.S., according to Nielsen SoundScan.
