News on Duran Duran, Grammys, Orange BowlDuran Duran has added additional markets and more dates to its U.K. comeback tour. Now due to kick off at Nottingham Arena on April 11, the outing will mark the first time that the band's original lineup has toured its home country in 18 years. According to the band's official Web site, the 10 dates will precede a world tour.
A long-gestating album of new material is also in the works, the follow-up to 2000's "Pop Trash" (Hollywood), which featured just two original members. The classic lineup's last studio album was 1983's "Seven and the Ragged Tiger" (Capitol), which generated the worldwide smash "The Reflex." At present, the band has not yet announced a new recording deal.

Van Cliburn, the Funk Brothers, Ella Jenkins, Sonny Rollins, Artie Shaw and Doc Watson are to receive the 2004 lifetime achievement awards from the Recording Academy. Jazz producer Orrin Keepnews, songwriting team Gerry Goffin and Carole King and pianist/radio host Marian McPartland will receive Trustees Awards.
Formal acknowledgement of the honors will be made in conjunction with the 46th annual Grammy Awards, to air live Feb. 8 on CBS from the Staples Center in L.A.

Jessica Simpson, Nick Lachey, Roselyn Sanchez and Tego Calderon will perform Jan. 1 during halftime of the 2004 FedEx Orange Bowl at Miami's Pro Player Stadium. Under the banner "Party South Florida Style," the artists will be accompanied on the field by 3,000 dancers for the performance.
Simpson and Lachey, who star in their own VH1 reality series "Newlyweds," each recently released solo albums. Simpson's "In This Skin" (Columbia), debuted at No. 10 on The Billboard 200 in September. Lachey, a former member of 98 Degrees, saw his Universal solo debut, "SoulO," bow at No. 51 in November.
Sanchez and Calderon duet on the track "Amor Amor," which appears on the former's BMG Latin album "Borinquena." The song reached No. 6 on Billboard's Latin Tropical Airplay chart last month.
