R&B artist JoJo and singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw will perform as part of the annual Arthur Ashe Kids' Day, the official kick off of grand slam tennis event the U.S. Open.
R&B artist JoJo and singer/songwriter Gavin DeGraw will perform as part of the annual Arthur Ashe Kids' Day, the official kick off of grand slam tennis event the U.S. Open. Slated for Aug. 28 at the U.S. Tennis Association (USTA) National Tennis Center in Flushing, Queens, the event will be hosted by MTV VJ Quddus and taped for broadcast the next day on CBS at 1 p.m. ET.
Also on hand for the event will be tennis stars Andy Roddick, Serena Williams, Roger Federer and the Bryan Brothers. Presented by Hess, Arthur Ashe Kids' Day is a mix of interactive games, musical entertainment and tennis clinics, as well as the World TeamTennis finals.
Tickets prices range from $10 to $25 and are available at Ticketmaster and usopen.org. A portion of the proceeds benefit the USA Tennis National Junior Tennis League.
"Arthur Ashe Kids' Day is about continuing the legacy of late tennis great Arthur Ashe and introducing children of all ages to tennis," USTA chief business officer Pierce O'Neil says. "Showcasing our great sport with today's hottest music brings families together for an exhilarating, interactive experience and kicks off the US Open in style."
Past performers at the event include Britney Spears, the Backstreet Boys, Jessica Simpson, 98 Degrees, Vanessa Carlton and Hanson.
