NY Dolls CD/DVD Sports Final Kane Gig

The reunited New York Dolls' performance at the Morrissey-curated Meltdown Festival in June is heading to CD and DVD.

As tipped here in July, the reunited New York Dolls' performance at the Morrissey-curated Meltdown Festival in June is heading to CD and DVD. "The Return of the New York Dolls: Live From Royal Festival Hall 2004" will be released Sept. 28 via Morrissey's Attack imprint via Sanctuary.

The CD sports exclusively Dolls tracks performed by group members David Johansen, Arthur "Killer" Kane and Sylvain Sylvain, including "Trash," "Looking for a Kiss," "Personality Crisis" and "Jet Boy." The show proved to be the last for Kane, who died July 13 in Los Angeles due to complications from leukemia.

The DVD tacks on covers of the Shangri-Las' "Out in the Streets" and Memphis Minnie's "In My Girlish Days," plus interviews and the group's soundcheck and rehearsals.

The surviving Dolls have five shows lined up in the weeks ahead, beginning Sept. 25 in Tokyo and wrapping Oct. 3 in San Francisco.
