Coheed & Cambria has scored three nominations for the first mtvU Woodie Awards, which will recognize artists who have made an impact on the college music scene. College TV network mtvU will air the awards show in early November. Voting is open to the public through Oct. 15 at mtvu.com and by calling 1-877-VOTE-MTVU.

According to mtvU, the "woodie" title for the awards is in reference to the awards' concept of being the antithesis of gold and platinum industry awards.

Coheed & Cambria are nominated for soundtrack of my life Woodie (best album) for "In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth," streaming Woodie (most streamed) for the song "A Favor House" and best showing Woodie (best tour). Beastie Boys, Modest Mouse, the Roots, Kenna, O.A.R. and Death Cab For Cutie earned two nods each.

Modest Mouse and Death Cab For Cutie are both up for Woodie of the year (artist of the year), along with Jet, Anthony Hamilton and Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Also nominated for soundtrack of my life Woodie are Franz Ferdinand's self-titled album, the Postal Service's "Give Up," Jadakiss' "Kiss the Game Goodbye" and A-Kon's "Trouble."
