Zayn who?

One Direction has set a new Spotify record for one-day streams. The group’s first Zayn-less song, "Drag Me Down," was played 4.75 million times global on Friday July 31, breaking a milestone previously set by Wiz Khalifa’s "See You Again," which was streamed 4.26 million times on April 17.

According to Spotify, "Drag Me Down" is also the first track ever to hit No. 1 on the the Spotify Global Chart on its first day of release. Calvin Harris’ "Blame" — which reached the top in two days — previously held that record. (It probably helped that nearly 1.2 million One Direction fans worldwide listen to the song on its first day.)

”Drag Me Down” -- written by Jamie Scott, John Ryan and Julian Bunetta, and produced by Ryan and Bunetta -- jumped to the top of the Billboard + Twitter Trending 140 shortly after its release on Friday. That night, the foursome performed the song live for the first time, in Indianapolis.

"Drag Me Down" is 1D’s first official single since the departure of Zayn Malik in March. Incidentally, he likes it.
