The two-hour show honoring the world's best-selling recording artists was broadcast live on ABC throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada from the Thomas & Mack Center at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas.
An additional hour filled with awards and performances by international artists was taped for a later worldwide broadcast to more than 150 countries.
Besides world's best male artist, Usher was honored as best pop male artist and best R&B artist. OutKast won for world's best group, best pop group and best rap/hip-hop artist. Norah Jones took home trophies for world's best female artist and best pop female artist.
