Though born in Van Nuys, Calif., DJ/producer Roy Davis Jr. spent the bulk of his life in Chicago before moving back to Los Angeles last year. With "Chicago Forever," he has created a soulful love letter to the Windy City—a place he obviously misses and where house music was born. At turns jazzy ("Wonderland," featuring Terry Dexter), R&B club ("Heavenly Father") and classically house ("My Soul Is Electric," featuring Khalid), "Chicago Forever" is beautifully underground. More important, it's wonderfully musical.—MP
