Vicente "El Rey" Fernandez will kick off a brief U.S. tour Oct. 15 in Dallas. The 16-date, Jack Daniel's-sponsored run includes a four-night stand at Los Angeles' Universal Amphitheatre and a stop at New York's Theatre at Madison Square Garden. The Mexican mariachi legend and member of the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame will be joined by Ana Gabriel for select shows.

2005 will mark the sixth year that Jack Daniel's has sponsored Fernandez on the road. "Vicente is an exceptional, unique talent," says Dave Stang, the liquor brand's national sponsorship director. "It is an honor for Jack Daniel's to be a part of [his] tour and the cultural heritage he represents."

Fernandez's collaboration with his son, Alejandro Fernandez, "En Vivo: Juntos Por Ultima Vez," topped Billboard's Regional Mexican chart in November 2003 and reached No. 4 on the Top Latin Albums chart. It also won the Latin Grammy award for best ranchero album.
